Pod koniec sierpnia 2020 r. The Nation Thailand poinformował, że niższa dawka andrografisu wykazała korzyści we wstępnym badaniu, zwłaszcza w przypadku kaszlu. Po trzech tygodniach testy PCR w czasie rzeczywistym były negatywne u wszystkich sześciu badanych. Pod koniec grudnia 2020 r. rząd Tajlandii zatwierdził badanie pilotażowe dotyczące stosowania andrographis z ziół południowoazjatyckich w leczeniu wczesnych objawów i zmniejszaniu nasilenia COVID-19.
